Terms and Conditions
Being a panel member
Becoming a member
At present Userneeds has panels in the following countries: Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Ireland and Switzerland. All persons aged 16 years or older who live in one of these countries can join the Userneeds panel limited to one profile per person.
Points and tickets
After joining panel members can start accumulation points and tickets in several ways:
- Points are primarily accumulated by taking part in market research surveys, focus groups or other activities in relation to market research, surveys and/or competitions. Earned points may be exchanged for gift cards or other incentives exclusive to each country’s panel. Points can be accumulated in the following countries: Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Ireland
- Tickets can be accumulated in a similar manner to points or be bought with points. With each prize draw tickets are spent, and the accumulated number of tickets is reset. Tickets cannot be accumulated in Sweden
All members can be informed of their point and ticket balance by contacting Userneeds or by logging on to their member page U+.
Moving to a different country
It is not possible to move panel account to a different country, regardless of whether Userneeds has a panel in that country or not. This means points accumulated must be spent in that panel and can’t be transferred.
Prizes and gift cards which have been awarded through Userneeds’ panel system may be used by anyone. Panel members therefore have the right to pass on their gift card to someone they know. For information on prizes and winners please visit our page Draws & Winners.
Termination of membership
Panel members can resign from the panel at any time by contacting Userneeds, logging on to their member page U+ or using the unsubscribe link in all survey invites. Upon resignation, all personal information held by Userneeds will be deleted and the panel member will no longer receive emails. Panel members who resign automatically lose all accumulated points and tickets.
Userneeds treats all panel members with respect and expects a mutual level of respect in return.
Therefore, Userneeds expects panel members to answer surveys truthfully and thoroughly and reserves the right to exclude any panel member should they violate the terms or engage in unlawful or offensive behavior. Panel members excluded in this way will lose their points and tickets and the possibility to participate further in any future draws.
Userneeds also reserves the right to exclude any panel member on the suspicion of fraud and/or cheating or in cases of inactivity for a period of 12 months or more.
In these cases, panel members will be contacted with a warning of deletion of points and tickets at least 14 days before the deletion takes place.
Userneeds reserves the right to change our terms and conditions without providing any further notice.

Collection of data in Userneeds’ surveys
Participation in Userneeds’ surveys is always voluntary, whether you are a member of our panel or not. You can stop answering a specific survey at any given time, for instance if there is a question you do not wish to answer. Incomplete surveys are deleted. When you participate in Userneeds’ surveys, both passive and active data collection takes place, as mentioned above. The information collected actively consists of the answers you give to the questions in the survey. This information will usually not be enough to identify the person who has answered the survey.
Personal identifiable information will not be given to the client who has commissioned the survey, nor to any third party.
Collection of data on Userneeds’ websites
When you visit Userneeds’ websites, you leave electronic trails which contribute to Userneeds’ statistics on how the sites are being used. The trails are also logged for security measures. The data gathered from these trails includes what sites you have visited at what time, what browser you use and your IP address. It is not possible to recognize individuals based on this information.
The information collected from our surveys is used for research and analysis purposes.
The profile and contact information is collected for administrative purposes and enables us to manage services for our panel members.
The purpose of collecting IP addresses, browser information and the time of the visit on our website is for statistics, to ensure data security and to improve our website and member portal.
The answers you give in a survey will be delivered to the client who has ordered the specific survey. Your email address, and any other information which could potentially identify you, will not be sent to the client.
Your profile data is only used by Userneeds to map out the panel members in different segments, as well as for finding members who fit the target group of a given survey.
Here you will find answers to questions frequently asked by panel members.
How do I change my e-mail?
On your member page you can change your e-mail address by clicking on “My information” and type in your new e-mail address in which you wish to receive surveys.
I can’t see the images in the invitation e-mail. What do I do?
If you cannot see the images in the invitation e-mail you receive from us, it might be because your mail programme has blocked the images. You can often retrieve the images by right-clicking the small red cross where the images should have been or click on the message at the top of the e-mail that says that certain information has been blocked.
How do I withdraw from the panel?
If you no longer wish to be a member of our panel, it is easy to withdraw. Simply click on the withdraw link at the bottom of all our invitation e-mails. You can also contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
What is my member portal?
Your member portal is your own personal site which only you have access to. Here you can see what surveys are available and what surveys you have already completed.
Below you can read more about where we come from and our current visions for the market.
Userneeds was founded in 2001 and has from the start been focused on online analysis; first as a consultancy house within a usability-consultancy, and since as a dedicated supplier of web-based questionnaire surveys.
In 2006 this development led to massive investments in the development of Userneeds’ organisation and skills. Many of Userneeds’ employees have a university or business school education. Our employees work on ensuring the quality of the company’s panels, the individual samples and the questionnaires sent to the panel members.
In recent years Userneeds has expanded heavily with large consumer panels in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Ireland. The size of the panels gives Userneeds a unique opportunity to run surveys among specific population segments. Our clients gain access to valuable and instantly usable information about their specific target group.
Userneeds’ clients include major Danish and international research institutes and organisations with their own analytic skills. These types of clients allows us to focus on what we do best – supplying online interviews from the people, who have chosen to join one of our panels.
Userneeds is currently one of the Nordics’ leading suppliers of data collection for professional users of market analysis. Userneeds is a professionally run company, where quality, growth and professionalism are key words. Userneeds’ ambitious targets have resulted in the company being nominated a Gazelle company several years in a row.
Userneeds is a member of the European organisation for research institutes, ESOMAR, which ensures that Userneeds’ research and analysis always meet the stringent quality requirements for professional standards and research methods.
